Introduction of the Community Injury Surveillance System
The Community Injury Surveillance System (CISS) is developed by the Occupational Safety and Health Council based on two international classification systems used by the World Health Organization (WHO): the International Classification of External Causes of Injury (ICECI) and the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD). The System is designed to record injury occurrences within the community, analyze the related information and produce comprehensive reports on the trend of injures thereby facilitating the community to establish effective injury prevention programs. Organizations that handle injury incidents such as hospitals, clinics, and those which manage large venues or with large populations such as property management companies, schools and residential care homes, etc. can use this system to monitor the injury cases.
The CISS is a bilingual (Chinese and English) system which is simple and easy to use. Users can enter the particulars of each injury case, such as the basic information of the injured person, location of occurrence, activities, objects involved and other relevant items, and produce different charts with the analysis function of the system. Users can use these analytical results to establish corresponding preventive measures thereby reducing the impact of injury on the community.

職業安全健康局根據世界衛生組織所採用之《受傷之外在原因國際分類法（ICECI）》及《疾病及相關健康問題的國際統計分類法（ICD）》，製作了「社區傷害監測系統」，其主要目的是對發生於社區內的受傷個案進行記錄及分析，找出導致意外受傷的主要原因，從而協助社區制定預防意外的方案及措施。系統適合於需要處理受傷事故的機構，包括醫院、診所，以及需要管理大型場地或群體的機構，包括物業管理公司、學校、院舍等。
社區傷害監測系統是一個易於使用的雙語（中文及英文）系統，使用者只須將每個受傷個案的詳情，例如意外發生地點、活動、所涉及的物件等，輸入資料庫之內，便可利用系統的分析功能，製作成不同類型的圖表。使用者可利用這些分析結果，作出針對性的預防措施，減低類似事故再發生的機會，以減輕受傷事故對社區以及區內人士所造成的影響。
